As unfortunate as it sounds, roofs do not last forever! Especially if your roof is one of the common asphalt shingle roofs, at some point in your life you will have to handle a roof replacement. If you know what to look for in terms of warning signs that your roof will need replacement soon, you can save yourself the worry of damage that can occur from bald spots or roof damage. At Midian Roofing, we urge our customers to look for these three red flags that can signal a roof replacement in the future.
- Bald Spots- Missing granules on your roof or in your downspouts after a rainstorm can often signal that your roof is starting to age. Without the asphalt granules on your roof, the only protection your roof really has is the asphalt paper, which isn’t enough to protect your interior from the elements.
- Curled Shingles- When your shingles start to curl up at the ends, it can be a sign that water damage is starting to affect their overall strength and structure. In addition to overall appearance, curled shingles aren’t able to direct rainwater off the roof as well, leaving it to pool and puddle in certain areas.
- Age- One of the biggest red flags for roof replacement is the age of your roof. If you aren’t sure of the date of your roof, you can always call an expert at Midian Roofing or another roofing expert to guesstimate the age and condition of your roof.
If your roof is starting to show its age, let us take a look at Midian Roofing!
